GALLIPOLI

1915-1916

THE ANZACS

  • Australia
  • N.Z Army Corps

THE LANDING

  • 1915 at the Gallipoli Peninsula.
  • They never advanced more than two kilometers from the beach.
  • They were under heavy machine gun fire.

THE TRENCHES

  • The trenches were protection
  • The distance the Turks and ANZAC's trenches were 5 meters or a bit more.
  • The ANZACS threw over cigars to the Turks and the Turks threw over meat.

THE JAM TIN BOMB

  • Troops threw them over to enemy trenches.
  • They used a jam tin to disguise that it was an actual bomb.
  • They made 300 of these bombs a day.

THE PERISCOPE RIFLE

  • Troops were able to shoot this rifle with out getting killed.
  • They added fake heads as well for the trick sometimes.
  • They were deadly accurate between 100-250 meters.

THE EVACUATION

  • They laid bombs everywhere and laid flour to know where it was safe.
  • At night they would sneak away to the boats waiting.
