Nez Perce homes: The Nez Perce tribe lived in homes dug into the earth and covered them with a wood frame, mats and bark. Later, they lived in Teepees. Teepees were easily set up and taken down so the tribe could move and follow buffalo herds.
Clothing: The women wore long deerskin dresses and the men wore breechcloths, leggings, and buckskin shirts. Both wore moccasins. Some had beads on their clothing. Chiefs wore feather headdresses. Men and women wore their hair long, either down or in braids.
