“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” Matthew 6:25-27
We thank you for the gift of the cross. The cross used as a tool of fear and intimidation by your people's enemy has become the source of our strength. May it be a reminder that nothing can keep us from Your love. That you will never leave us, for You are faithful to Your promise.
Lord teach us not to fear but to trust in You instead, for you had already won 2,000 years ago.
Teach us not to be afraid; teach us to be courageous. Keep us joyful in the midst of our trials. Lord, we hold on to Your love and promise that You will be with us. All of these we ask in Your Son's mighty name, Jesus Christ Our Lord, Amen.
