  • Subjects you already know a lot about and enjoy talking about
  • Nouns, not descriptive words (i.e-traits or skills)
  • SOCCER not "team oriented"

  • Consider assessments
  • Adjectives not general categorical terms
  • Avoid vagueness, focus on work environment people

  • Strong verbs not traits
  • Transferable skill focused not soft skill focused

  • Specificity of environment
  • What does your physical space look like?
  • Work surrounding focused not people oriented

  • Their top, your bottom
  • Give a range, not a fixed figure
  • $75,000 magic number (happiness plateaus)
  • 55K were only 9 percent more content than those making 25K

  • Create a priority list
  • General can work, but be specific on location
  • Consider: does it help your work situation

Petal 7 (Personal Mission)

  • What work do you want to be a part of
  • Avoid vagueness, describe the work you value
  • Counsel disenfranchised youth from impoverished communities to help advocate for equitable education and promote college access

Interview Exercise

  • Purpose is two fold: exposure to an interview, allow you to answer "Is this position a fit for me?"
  • In partners create potential interview questions that allow you to reference your flower responses
  • Practice responding with the information you included on your petals
