Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
1928-1968
He was a civil rights leader. He was very educated and wanted people to be treated equally. He was assassinated on his hotel balcony.

Brown vs. board of education
Had disagreement whether blacks and whites could go to the Sam school

Rosa Parks
Was arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white person. She stayed in jail for one day until the black community bailed her out. After they heard of what happened, they decided to stop taking the bus.
