WHY SHE IS A PEACEMAKER
She is a peacemaker because she wants to help the world and she wants it to be a safer place for the world.
She became a peacemaker by helping out, volunteering and making the world a better place one step at a time.

ELEANOR’S EARLY YEARS
When she was three she almost drowned on a ship over seas.
She had two brothers but one of them died
When she was 8 years old her mother died from a disease called diphtheria
When she was about to turn 10 years her father died
They were sent to their grandmother
Born on October 11 1884

YEARS AT ALLENSWOOD.
When Eleanor was 11years her grandmother went to England and she was sent to a school called Allenswood.
In school, she was the” top” of her class.
The principal was so amazed she took her on trips.
Her strict grandmother didn’t approve so they moved back to New York.
She told her she wouldn’t study until they moved back to England, so they moved back.

THE BIG WEDDING
Franklin Roosevelt proposed to Eleanor but his mother thought they were too young, so they got married the year after.
They got married in New York, March 17 1905.
At their wedding Eleanor’s uncle Theodore got all the attention since he was the president.
Theodore’s daughter told them that he always gets the attention at events.

FORMING A FAMILY
Eleanor and Franklin had six children.
Unfortunately, one child died the same year it was born.
They have one girl and four boys.

BECOMING A FIRST LADY
Before her husband Franklin became the president of the USA he became mayor of New York.
In 1933 Eleanor Roosevelt became the First Lady of the USA.
Eleanor had a lot of ideas to share with the country, so she had speeches about them.

WHITE HOUSE YEARS
Eleanor Roosevelt was the First Lady for 4 years.
Her secretary started to hang out with Franklin, then they started to fall in love with each other.
When Eleanor found out she told him she wouldn’t help him so he agreed to never see the secretary again.

FRANKLIN GETS WORSE
In 1921 Franklin got a disease called polio.
Polio is a disease when a body part can’t move, Franklin had polio in his legs
His mother told him to stop being the president but Eleanor for once disagreed with her.
In 1945 he died.

GOOD LIFE, GOODBYE ELEANOR
In 1962 Eleanor died
A man made this saying in memory of Eleanor, “
She would rather light candles that curse the darkness,and her glow has warmed the world.

WHY SHE IS A PEACE MAKER
She became a peace maker by not staying still but standing a helping out and volunteering.
She became a peacemaker by trying to stop segregation.

FUN FACTS
Eleanor got married to her cousin.
Eleanor is her middle name and Anna is her real name but since her moms name is also Anna they went with Eleanor.
When she was little she wasn’t like other girls, she would play outside while other girls read or study.
