Revealed in Pieces

Through many Prophets and Many Ways
Long ago God spoke.......

Concept of progressive revelation beginning with Gen 3:15 in 1440 BC ish and ending in 90 AD with Revelation

Many ways - dreams, visions, Scriptures, prophetic announcements, angelic appearances

All pointing to Jesus from the past

All pointing to Jesus in the present

In the last days - after the resurrection

Jesus - His Nature

  • Creator
  • Inheritor
  • Reflector
  • Sustainer
Creator of worlds - he made them
The Father places in the lap of Jesus his inheritance never to be revoked

Reflector -

First the Brightness of God's presence -

the light of the world is Jesus

the light in the way God reveals his presence, his glory, or makes it known to us is Jesus - the Son in Sonlight so to speak

Second is the likeness of the father

- the die that is used to make proof coins, carefully carved to perfection
- the substance behind the presence of God....he is the one who shows up in the flesh....."the stuff God is made of....so to speak......"

Sustainer - bears, carries, sustains, upholds all things, not just religous things

He does this by the word of his power, his ability - the spoken word of Jesus made our salvation possible

and the ability or power in the word of Jesus is seen in how he secures our salvation

He is God - Divinity
Worshipped

Called God by the Father

His throne - Authority

Eternal throne as conqueror of sin and death\

Set above

Annointed -

kings are annointed, also the root meaning of Messiah
annointed with joy
Creation is mentioned again

His Eternity -
never wears out
never gets changed out like dirty clothes get changed or need washing
