MICHELANGELO'S MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS

  • He painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
  • He created the "Pieta"and "The Statue Of David" before he was 30.
  • "The Last Judgment" is on the altar wall of the Sistine chapel.
  • He composed over 300 pieces of poetry during his life.
  • The "Pieta" is the only artwork he ever signed.

MICHELANGELO'S BELIEFS AND FEELINGS

  • He described himself as being "of very noble lineage."
  • During the 1489's he decided he would devote himself to sculpting.
  • He was very gentle and generous.
  • He was attentive and suportive of his father and brothers.
  • At the age of 17 he started to dissect corpses at the church graveyard.
