  • Stands for National Council Licensure Examination - Registered Nurse
  • Administered in all states nationwide, District of Columbia, and four US territories
  • Determines competency for entry-level practice of nursing

Pretest & Lesson Post-tests

  • The pretest has 100 questions that are divided into 8 sections. The name of each section corresponds to a lesson in the review course. The number of questions contained in each section is based on the distribution of content for the NCLEX-RN Test Plan. You must score 75% or higher in every section for the pretest to be marked complete. There is a 20-question post-test for each of the 8 lessons. You must score 75% or higher in every post- test.

DAY BEFORE NCLEX
THE NIGHT BEFORE
Your priority should be to get to bed early and get a good night's rest. Alcohol will not enhance your performance in the exam and you have worked too hard to get this far to make the day more difficult than it needs to be. Also watch out for excessive caffeine intake, as this may make it difficult to settle down and concentrate during the exam.

EXAM DAY
Make sure to bring your ID. Candidates without proper ID will not be allowed to take the NCLEX.
Know the NCLEX Candidate Rules! These include policies specific to personal items, confidentiality, NCLEX administration and break procedures.
DRESS COMFORTABLY
You're required to leave hats, scarves, gloves and coats outside of the testing room. (Provisions are made for religious/cultural dress.
ARRIVE EARLY

Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your exam. If you are more than 30 minutes late, you may have to forfeit, reregister and pay another exam fee.
