Great Horned Owls have feather tufts on their heads called "Plumicorns". Live between 5-15 years in the wild.

They live from the Arctic to South America.

They eat lemmings, and are extremely territorial.

Have big eyes. Are sparrow sized. They hunt by day, and sometimes attack larger birds.

Live from southeastern Alaska to most of the west.

When captured, this tiny owl feigns death until sure that all danger has passed. It feeds almost exclusively on insects, catching them in the air or on the ground, but also takes mice and lizards.

They breed/live Breeds in southeastern California, southern Arizona, southwestern New Mexico, and Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Winters in Mexico.
