WHAT IS IT?

• It's a international film festival located in Viña del mar,Chile.
• The festival celebrates the work put into Latin American movies mostly from South America.
• It gives out several awards for Music soundtrack, movie production, and national and international short film. Etc.
• It attracts a lot of attention due to the heated climate and warm beaches.

HISTORY

• Idea of a Chilean film festival arose in 1962
• In 1963 chile held its first amateur film festival, later opening to other Latin American regions
• It dropped the "amateur" title later on.
• Between 1970 and 2000 the film festival was dropped due to the heated political climate.
• In 2007 the film festival celebrated its 40th anniversary
