  • Prayers at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset, and after nightfall.
  • Before, Muslims must perform ritual washings.
  • Muslims may worship anywhere.
  • Some Muslims carry a prayer rug.

  • Word zakat means “purification.”
  • Reminds people of God’s great gifts to them.

  • Millions of believers from all over the world come together to Mecca.
  • Pilgrims follow what Muslims believe are the footsteps of Abraham and Muhammad.
  • They go to the Great Mosque.
  • Believe Abraham built the Ka’bah as a shrine to honor God.
  • They circle the Ka’bah seven times.
