THE HISTORY OF DENTISTRY

  • The first toothbrush wasn't invented until the 1800’s. People tried to remove stains by scrubbing their teeth with coral, pumice, etc. removing enamel and leaving their teeth vulnerable.

WHY THE TEETH WERE EXTRACTED

  • The dentist would pull teeth until he found the right match for the upperclassmen
  • people would bleed out in the chair and die of blood loss

FALSE TEETH

  • If the animal tooth supply went down they would use teeth from dead bodies
