HER CONVERSION

  • She had a conversion when she was 14
  • Christmas Day 1886
  • At age 15 she moved to a convent
  • Carmelite convent in Lisieux

LEGACY&BELIFS

  • Struggled with tuberculosis while at the convent
  • Died at age 24 in the convent (sept 30 1897)
  • Her last words were "My God,I love You!"
  • Had a strong connection with God while at the convent

LEGACY & BELIFS

  • Her autobiography "story of a soul" described her love and passion of the Lord
  • She described her life as a "little way of spiritual childhood"
  • "Not great deeds,but great love" is what she believed mattered in life
  • She was canonized by Pope Pius XI on May 17, 1925. Had she lived, she would have been only 52 years old when she was declared a Saint.
  • her spirituality has influenced people all over the world.

  • She loved flowers and saw herself as "the little flower of Jesus"
  • Giving glory to God by just being her beautiful self among the other flowers in the garden of God
  • This analogy got her the title "little flower"
  • declared "greatest Saint of modern times"in 1997
