ERG CHEBBI

FACTS

• The dunes can reach to a height of 150 meters
• You can go on camel tours and spend the night in the desert to where you can't see the village anymore
• During the hottest parts of the year, Moroccans come here to bury themselves neck deep in the sand which is considered a treatment for rheumatism

Cascades d'Ouzoud

FACTS

• Ouzoud means "the act of grinding rain"
• At the summit, there are grain mills that are still in use
• Highest fall is 328 feet
• Activities: have a picnic, look at the beautiful scenery and watch for animals

PARC NATIONAL DE SOUSS-MASSA

FACTS

• Main conservation importance is that it holds 3/4 of the Moroccan colonies of Bald Ibis
• It is threatened by increasing pressure of the growing human population and construction
• Holds captive breeding programs for threatened North African ungulates
• Ungulates: scimitar oryx, addax, drama gazelle, Dorcas gazelle

Atlas Massif

FACTS

• Beautiful forests on the slopes of the mountain
• Mineral deposits in the mountain have gold, silver, zinc, lead
• Many paths that lead between the coast and the Sahara Desert
• 4 regions one of them being in Morocco and having 3 ranges called Middle Atlas, High Atlas, and Anti-Atlas
• Other 3 regions are located in Tunisia and Algeria
