Yes these structures still exist.
These structures were symbols for gods or rulers.

An important monumental architecture is the jaguar child. It is a sculpture of an Olmec holding a jaguar baby. This represents that an olmec has a spirit of a man and the brutality and strength of a jaguar. Many sculptures were made like this for rulers or gods.

Both civilizations used the structures in an architectural style. For example the Taj Mahal was made of different materials but mostly white marble. A difference is that the one civilization was for a religious reason.

The purpose of monumental architecture is to remember a historic time or a religious reason. The Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jehan in remembrance of his wife. While the olmecs built giant colossal heads for their ruler or gods. These structures and many others are an example of monumental architecture.
