WHERE DID IRISH FOLKLORE BEGIN.

THE WAY IT BRANCHES OUT

WHAT TOPICS ARE LINKED

HOW DID IT CONCLUDE

HOW DID IT END?

The Beginning
Irish Folklore was a big part of Ireland until the conversion to Christianity.

Although most of the folklore bore no religious significance most of it was written down.

The Cycles
Although some of the myths and legends were not written down there is sufficient evidence to prove that there were cycles.
These cycles were called :
The Mythological cycle
The Ulster cycle
The Fenian cycle
And
The Historical cycle

The reign of King Conchobar mac Nessa,
And
The Ulster Cycle
