Why People May Gamble...

  • Running low on money and are too embarrassed to get it any other way.
  • To earn back the money they lost from when they previously gambled, or attempt to make more from the savings they have left.
  • Simply, for fun.
  • Peer pressure from the people around.

Positive Effects

  • The thrill of winning money.
  • Relieving stress.
  • A way to relax.
  • Popularity gained from winning.
  • A way to socialize.
  • Becoming more intelligent due to some ways of gambling which require some sort of strategy.

Negative Effects

  • Having financial problems.
  • Being in debt.
  • Getting a bad reputation from this addiction.
  • Having issues with family or at work.
  • Causing health problems; such as anxiety and/or stress.
  • Low self esteem due to losing.

Although there are many positive effects to gambling, they are not permanent.

Whereas, any negative effect will last longer or maybe even forever, which is obviously not a good thing.

Gambling has lots of negative consequences, as previously stated, that are usually tied to the future.

Any positive outcome to gambling will never last, but negative ones will if you do not know how to stop. Do NOT get into a habit of this, or else the future will not be kind to you.
