Being Filipino is a part of me that I can never change. I am born there and that will always be a big part of me. Being proud to be a Filipino is one of the best things.
I watched a lot of kids shows when I was younger and one of them was the show Blues Clues. That is how I basically learned English, from watching English tv shows.
I grew up with a 7 Eleven right in front of my house. Me and my brother would always ask our parents for some money and we would buy almost everything in the store.
School in the Philippines was pretty strict. We had to wear uniforms, no makeup and not even coloured hair. Even though it was hard, they left me with some good memories with my friends and teachers. I will always come back there for a visit every time I come back from Canada.
Music has been a big part of my life and will always be. When I'm down, happy or just wanna get pumped up on a Friday night. I always listen to music everywhere I go.
My family might not be the best sometimes but they will always be there for me till death and I know they will never leave me even on tough times. I'm very blessed with a big family.
I'm very thankful for the friends that I have. They may come and go through the winding staircase of my life but I'm very glad for the ones who stay because I know they are the real ones.
My dad is a huge animal lover. We have had so many pet in the Philippines like rabbits, birds, fishes, cats and especially dogs. My last pet in the Philippines was a Shar Pei similar to the picture.
When it's summer in the Philippines our number one get away is the beach. It is perfect for the hot weather and we would get a private one just for my family and relax all day long.
When we' re not in the beach, amusement parks are our second get away. Back when I was very young, I remember my parents would take me to one but I would just go on one of the rides because its very expensive in the Philippines.
Going to the movie theatre every sunday was a ritual in my family. At a very young age my parents would take me and my brothers to watch almost every American movie that comes out, but not our local ones because my dad thinks it sucks.
Going to the mall on Sundays was another ritual for my family. Malls in the Philippines are different, they are also a place to just walk around and to hang out.
This symbol of music is a different one. As a child my mom signed me for anything she can get her hands on. I have taken piano, violin, guitar, and voice lessons. Currently I'm playing the instrument trumpet in band.
Being the only daughter of the family and having two brothers, I couldn't help playing with their toys and as a result of that I would always play video games with them. I still play with them occasionally.
Being the only daughter in the family and the middle child, I'm very blessed to have almost everything I want. My mom would always dress me up in cute dresses and matching shoes and I would walk around everywhere like I'm in the catwalk.
Every night, if not my parents, one of our nannies would read me and my little brother a fairy tale. We would have stacks of books so that every night we never run out of books to read.
When I was very young this was a popular trend in my country, a lot of people had it in school and I wanted one so bad but I never got one. It taught me a lesson that some things that everybody has is not necessary.
With everything I do, I know God is always with me. I don't remember not ever going to church on Sunday, from the very beginning of my very existence my parents made sure I knew about Jesus Christ.
