TOP THREE REASONS ROME FELL

CHRISTIAN THORP (6TH PERIOD)

#3
In third place for why the Roman Empire fell, we have political instability. Considering the fact in 50 years there were 22 different emperors, that should say something on its own. And during a time where no decent leadership has been established, people will lose trust in the government. People turned towards Christianity. The roman religion was not worth learning/ following, and trust continued to decline, which ultimately separates the people from each other and the government.

#2
The second largest impact on the fall of the Roman Empire is over expansion/ economic issues. Both are equally harmful to Rome and collide with each other. Because of the over expansion of Rome, it became too large for the economy to support. Rome kept spending so much money on the military, that there wasn't enough for the infrastructure of the entire land. Soil was over worked and couldn't be used, also talking the economy.

#1
The number one reason that the Roman Empire fell is the military issues/ external invasions. Rome could hardly afford a military large enough to accommodate the large area of Rome and they were constantly at war. First, the Germanic and Sassanid tribes invaded the east and west. And then the Huns invaded both sides, putting a large dent in the military. Then the Visigoths destroyed Rome, the Huns lead by Attila attacked, and the Vandals invaded Rome, and Rome was destroyed for good.
