Seawater is denser than fresh. A ship moving from the Atlantic into the Great Lakes goes from sea water to fresh water. Will the ship sink farther into the passage, stay the same level, or rise slightly?

How does refraction permit sound to be transmitted in the ocean for thousands of miles?

The molecules are closer together than at so they have less room to be compressed.
