- 1819 - Defeated the spanish army in Colombia
- Later campaigned in Venezuela, Ecuador, and Peru
- 1824 - Creole forces disposed of Spanish rule in South America

SUCCESS: GRAN COLOMBIA
- Formed in the 1820s by Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador
- Bolivar attempted to bring Peru and Bolivia too
- 1830 - Disintegrated because of political and regiinal differences
- Bolívar was bitterly disappointed
- Only lasted for a short while
