In my novel the main character Anthony Patch is a socialite who plans to inherit millions from his grandfather. Because of this he is lazy, arrogant and feels entitled to what he has. He does not work and spends his time breezing through the money he does have to maintain a luxuriant lifestyle. Not only does this affect Anthony and causes him to be an alcoholic but it also causes strains in his marriage.

The article "Can Inheritance do more Harm Than Good?" by Catey Hill, explains the dangers inheritance can have on a child that follow into adulthood. Hill explains, "When you give kids a lot of money, you take away some of the struggle" (Hill 4) . It could take away the persons desire to work hard hard in school, future jobs, and other aspects of their life. Inheritance can also lead to bad habits including drug and alcohol abuse.
