Pierre Laplace was famous for discovering black-holes and getting into an argument with the greatest scientist at the time. He also found proof that every equation, of an even degree, has at least one quadratic factor.

When attending Caen University, and though he was the brightest of his time attending, he did not have a degree like every one else did. Instead, Jean d’Alembert, a professor there at the time, gave him a letter of recommendation, and later helped him get a job teaching his theories at Caen. They ended up becoming really good friends.

During Laplace's lifetime, many important things took place. Some of those included the Monroe Doctrine, the Boston Tea Party, and the American Revolutionary War. Many other things occurred in his life time, but there are to many to list.
