The goal of the WSC School Counseling Cohort is to train 21st School Counselors--not guidance counselors. We will do this through a number of ways.

Your classes will be developmental. You will learn the theory of human development as well as strategies to use at each stage of development to aid in student success.

We will train you in the ethical expectations that come with the SC role.

School Counselors implement comprehensive SC programming based on research driven practices and the use of data to promote student achievement.

As part of your program, you will learn counseling techniques, conduct group counseling and individual counseling experiences. You will have supervised, collaborative field experiences

A school counselor has a unique perspective. SC see students from all angles, and are many times, the only one to see the full picture. Our job is an important one.
