• The main events in a book, play, movie, or any story which has many parts

Exposition

• the background or introductory information of a story

Rising Action

• Events that lead up to the biggest event
• There are multiple in one story

Climax

• The most exciting part of the story that the whole story so far has lead up to

Falling Action

• The sequence of events that happen after the climax.

Resolution

• The end of the story where all the loose ends are tied up
• If another story comes after the one that is ending, the resolution might give hints about what is to come.
