Our planet is 75% covered by water. That’s why we’re called the Blue Planet But

97.5% of that water is salt water. We only have 2.5% of freshwater to drink.

70% of fresh water consumed is through agriculture, 20% is used for industry and 10% is for domestic use.

Water scarcity is already a problem that affects 40% of the world’s population. Nearly 80% of diseases in developing countries are associated with
drinking water delivered through systems with inadequate sanitary standards.

To feed about 9 billion people that are expected in 2050 we will have to make a huge increase in agriculture water consumption. Because it takes around 2,000 liters of water to make 150 grams of beef and 40 liters to make a
slice of bread.

The USA uses 3.9 trillion
gallons of water per month.
One way we can help save water is by using more efficient toilets and shower heads.

The efficiency of household water consumption changes with all the different ages of homes. Older buildings usually have lower efficiency because new technology is so much different than it used to be.

One pro is that water helps us a lot for the economy. It also helps our health and how our body processes.

A con is that we have a limited amount and water and in some cases can cause disease.
