“For the first week, whenever I looked out on the pond it impressed me like a tarn high up
on the side of a mountain, its bottom far above the surface of other lakes, and, as the sun arose, I saw it throwing off its nightly clothing of mist, and here and there, by degrees, its soft ripples or its smooth reflecting surface was revealed, while the mists, like ghosts, were stealthily withdrawing in every direction into the woods, as at the breaking up of some nocturnal
conventicle.”

- Nature has a beauty that is overlooked everyday. People are to busy about there lives focusing on other things to take time to enjoy the beauty of the world they live in. All it takes is for you to take time out of your way to visit and view nature to experience its beauty.

WHAT I LIVE FOR

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only
the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach,
and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary.”

- We are capable of getting so caught up in our new technology and other things going on in life that we take nature for granted. If we are able to leave our possessions behind and live as simplistic as possible we can learn what it means to truly live. Nature has so much to teach us yet we ignore it because we are to busy to pay attention.

“As I walk along the stony shore of the pond in my shirtsleeves, though it is cool as well as cloudy and windy, and I see nothing
special to attract me, all the elements are unusually congenial to me.”

- Nature gives us an innate sense of comfort. Being surround by its beauty is able to fulfill or sooth us. It’s as if you were recreating a link that was severed in the past.

THE POND IN WINTER

“there a perennial waveless serenity reigns as in the amber twilight sky... to the cool and even temperament of the inhabitants. Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads. . . .” to the cool and even temperament of the inhabitants. “there a perennial waveless serenity reigns as in the amber twilight sky, corresponding to the cool and even temperament of the inhabitants. Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads. . . .”

- Nature beauty gifts serenity to its onlookers.
Nature has the ability to stop someone from what they are doing and just watch its magnificence. No beauty can match this other then Heaven it’s self.

SPRING

“The change from storm and winter...
“The change from storm and winter to serene and mild weather, from dark
and sluggish hours to bright and elastic ones, is a memorable crisis which all things proclaim. It is seemingly instantaneous at last”

- Nature is more then just beauty; it has the ability to change almost instantly. Nature is capable of switching season and creating storms out of nowhere. Something we take for granted is how amazing changing seasons are.

“It is remarkable how easily and insensibly we fall into a particular route, and make a beaten track for ourselves. I had not lived there a week before my feet wore a path from my door to the pond-side;”

- It is important to change your life around. You aren’t truly living until you do different things. Don’t waste your life living the same boring way.
