It's raining
And I am not me.

I am floating...effortlessly;
Can't tell if it's my body
or my heart that is heavy.

All the way out on a limb,
One seemingly flimsy, but durable;

A leaf of multicolored awareness blended by words I won't say

Because the ladybug on my shoulder comes and goes too often.

No need to hold on for dear life.

These roots anchor me,

Even when I'm too blown away to remember.

I thought by now

I mean, I've been moving upward for this long.

When, in fact, some part of me needs to be grounded.

Distant.
Busy.
Independent.

Not completely convinced we are all of the same tree.

Because I am floating, enjoying the rise,
anticipating the fall;
