PLOT SUMMARY
In Witch & Wizard, readers are introduced to 15-year-old Wisty Allgood and her 17-year-old brother Whit. Immediately the story jumps into the action as members of the New Order (a corrupt government organization that is taking over the entire world) invade the Allgood’s home. The siblings are accused of being a witch and wizard, which is news to them as they’ve been raised without any knowledge of their true identities.
The New Order, led by an evil man called The One Who Is the One, imprisons Whit and Wisty in jail. They’re trapped in horrible conditions, having to run through a hallway lined with hungry beasts to fetch their food. The bleak jail supposedly has properties to keep their magical powers at bay. But unlike the countless other imprisoned kids, the siblings discover that their magic is still in full force. Their powers surface at random, usually during times of intense anger or fear, making it hard to count on their magic as a means of escape.
Fortunately, outside forces aid in a most unusual escape. But with escape comes responsibility. More kids trapped in the hands of the New Order need their help. And with Whit and Wisty’s powers growing stronger by the day, it’s up to them to lead the rescue. But something is holding them back. Where are their parents? Are they still alive? Whit and Wisty are reluctant to help anyone until they discover the whereabouts of their parents and get the answers they long for.
