EDUCATION

  • Charles "Teenie" Harris completed middle school.
  • Robert L. Vann Elementary School
  • This act ended the end of his formal education.

MIDDLE AGED LIFE (TIMELINE)

  • 1927- Marries Miss. Ruth M. Butler
  • They had a son, Charles.
  • 1934- after 7 years they divorced
  • October 18, 1936 Harris makes cover- Flash Newspicture Magazine.
  • 1939- Harris studios opened

CONT. TIMELINE

  • 1940- sent to get information on conditions for black troops in training.
  • 1943-sent to Detroit for Race Riots.
  • 1944- Teenie remarries & Elsa Lee Elliot now his wife; four children.
  • 1953- closes his studio due to death of his mother.
  • His salary received was approximately 100$ weekly.

EXPERIENCE

  • Taking photographs since age 3
  • Worked at Bailey Hotel with his family
  • Coached a high school basketball team

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 1945- first photographed award
  • 1970s Charles began his first colored photographed project
