MELANOMA CANCER

GENERAL FACTS

• Can occur on any skin surface
• Rare on dark skin
• Happens in the deepest part of the epidermis
• Main risk factor is going out in the sun

SYMPTOMS

• Mole with asymmetry, strange color, and strange color
• Clot like mole
• Change in a mole
• Mole with a diameter over 6 mm

CAUSES

• Tanning salons and beds
• UV Rays
• Sunlight
• Genetic malfunction

TREATMENTS

• Surgery
• Medication/Drugs
• If Unsevere, the doctor will just treat it normally
• Therapy

STAGES

• Stage 0:Melanoma confined to top layer
• Stage 1: Melanoma grown thicker
• Stage 2: Grows thicker
• Stage 3: Melanoma has spread to a gland or to nearby skin
• Stage 4: Melanoma has spread to an internal organ or on akin far away from the original spot

AREAS

• Can happen on any bit of skin
• Women: Common in legs
• Men: Common on the back
