One of the laws we made was a law saying that branded slaves couldn't commit a felony, or else they would be killed or branded. They did this to show the slaves that the whites were in charge.
The next law states that if a run-away slave is sold the owner can not reclaim them. If you don't obey this law the new slaves will be bought and sold to new owners. The reason they made this law is so the slaves don't run away as much.
The last law states that no one could try to teach slaves, if they did they would be fined. They made this law so the slaves wouldn't get distracted, and learn how to break away from their owners to become free.
