BLOCKING

BLOCKING

  • Blocking is the process of developing the movement around the set and performance area
  • Your Blocking should reinforce character motivation, dynamic, emotion, purpose...in order to assist the audience in understanding the full picture

things to consider

  • movement used in blocking is either toward or away from the person/persons to whom you are speaking (usually toward the audience
  • when you move towards the audience (you are in more aggressive mode)
  • if you move away from the audience you appear more passive
