It was America’s first major and scaled public park.
It once housed a village.
It once had sheep.
Statue of Liberty
There are 25 windows in Lady Liberty’s crown.
The statue is made of copper but is now greeen in color because of oxidation.
The seven spikes on the Statue of Liberty’s crown represent either the seven oceans or seven continents.

Mississippi River
The Mississippi River is 2,340 miles long.
The Mississippi River is home to 360 species of fish, 326 species of birds, 145 species of amphibians and 50 species of mammals.
The deepest place on the Mississippi River is 200 feet deep and is located near Algiers Point in New Orleans.
Great Lakes
While Lake Superior is indeed a lake, it behaves more like an inland sea.
All of the four other Great Lakes, plus three more the size of Lake Erie would fit inside of Lake Superior.
Contained within Lake Superior is a whopping 10% of the world’s fresh surface water.
Rocky Mountains
The great divide runs through he land.
The parks headquarters was inspired by a world famous architect.
Bighorn sheep are the symbol of the park.
Appalachian mountains
The Appalachians are the oldest chain of mountains on North America.
The Appalachian mountains tallest mountain is Mount. Mitchell, measuring in at 6,684 ft.
The Appalachians house a large amount of deposits of coal natural gases, petroleum, and iron.
Death Valley
The average yearly rainfall is 2.36 inches according to the National Weather Service.
Many scenes in the original Star Wars trilogy were filmed in Death Valley.
Death Valley saw more than one million visitors in 2014.
