SAVING / INVESTING OPTIONS
Term 1 - Certificates of Deposit
Define - a certificate issued by a bank to a person depositing money for a specified length of time.
Term 2 - Treasury / Savings Bonds
Define - in a treasury / savings bond, you loan the U.S. your money for a fixed amount of time
Term 3 - Roth IRA
Define - an individual retirement account allowing a person to set aside after-tax income up to a specified amount each year. Both earnings on the account and withdrawals after age 59½ are tax-free
Term 4 - Collectibles
Define - items you collect and fix up to then gain more money so you can sell them.
Term 5 - Money Market Account
Define - this works a lot like a savings account except your money is accessible with a card, but the return rate is less.
If I had a windfall of $10,000, I would choose to buy a certificate of deposit because it’s the safest place for my money and i know it earns the safe amount of interest.
