WHERE THE NAME COMES FROM

  • The word 'Huauchinango' or "Cuauchinanco" is derived from the Nahuatl word, comes from the root "cuauitl": tree; "chinamitli": wall and "co": in; what is interpreted as "Place Surrounded by trees".

LOCATION

  • The head of the Municipality, is located at km 163 of the Mexico-Tuxpan highway, via pyramids, located in the Sierra Norte de Puebla, and is part of the Sierra Madre Oriental that extends into the northern area of ​​the State, from Huauchinango to Teziutlán; bordering the coastal plain of the Gulf of Mexico.
