Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. John F.Kennedy

My program is crucial to giving these students an opportunity to grow and foster a love of physical education, nutrition and an active lifestyle.

Why keep this program?

  • Addresses students needs for physical fitness

My physical Education class teaches much more than techniques, we are teaching students to work together, cooperation, to negotiate and play fair. These are all skills that will be needed when students graduate and are in the real world.

THESE SKILLS.....
help create and build "positive sense of identity."
(Datko, 2015)

"Regular activity during the school day is strongly associated with higher concentration levels as well as more directed, composed behavior." (Datko, 2015)

A GREAT BENEFIT OF P.E....
P.E. is a great benefit for mental health, it helps with depression, anxiety and sleep.

We are raising the most sedentary and unhealthy generation in American history.(Kelso, 2015)

We need to keep P.E.

We need to keep P.E. as part of the curriculum. It is crucial to show our students the benefits of physical activity and healthy living. We are in a place to make change. We can be the difference!

How Sidney can help???

By allowing our program to stay in place....

We can play a huge role on helping children grow, learn about, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
we can show students a well rounded and diverse understanding of physical acitivy.
We can give children the ability to make smart choices, resulting in less health risks as they grow.
We can educate the whole child!!
We will teach character traits of goal setting, perseverance, cooperation, sportsmanship.
