Stage Two-
Symbolization using visual representations to identify the "lesser group."
Stage Three-Dehumanization: assigning animal-like characteristics to "the other."
Why would dehumanization be a necessary component of genocide?
Stage Four-
Organization: recruitment of followers by state or local militias
Stage Five-Polarization: forcing people to choose sides. Eliminating moderates.
Stage Six-
Preparation: setting the stage for mass murder.
