It's gonna get real and I really want you to be candid, truthful, straightforward, sincere.

2). The lead role has shifted from being focused on the process to relationship...with the belief that the state of the relationship +/- productivity and goal outcomes.
3). It's not always rosy. People are complex creatures.
4). Nothing happens overnight!

Nail polish - Kristen Simmons worked as a "DA" for a day in CDA. She took time out of her hectic schedule to be among the team. An employee (who no longer works here) approached the PM..."Corinne, Kristen Simmons is wearing nail polish!!!". I was there and overheard the conversation. I jumped in quickly and said, "well, can I tell you a secret?" to the employee. The employee nodded, as if I was about to share some gossip. I said in a whisper, "did you know she's actually human"? The employee looked at me like, "yeah, I know that" and followed the look by saying, "well it is company policy". I continued by saying, "I think it's important to focus on the fact that she's here helping because she cares about each one of you and each one of our patients." That's what matters. "I'm pretty sure you've worn nail polish before and you still have a job". Compassion is find a way to understand people's circumstances.
