  • Jeju island is a geopark that is made up of nine different Geosites
  • These sites were created as a result of volcanic activities several years ago

  • The Geosites are called Mt. Hallasan, Manjanggul Lava Tube, Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, Seowipo formation , Cheonjiyeon waterfall, The Columnar joints at Jeju jungman , Daepo coast, Sanbangsan Lava dome, Yongmeori Tuff ring and Suweolbong tuff ring

  • Jeju island is situated in South Korea
  • It has a total area of 1847km squared
  • It is well preserved as a volcanic island

  • It is seen by around 7.7 million people every yeat
  • It is also used for scientific research because of its natural features and visible volcanic activity from 1.8 million ears ago

HALLA MOUNTAIN

ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR SITES ON JEJU ISLAND GEOPARK

HALLA MOUNTAIN

  • It is the highest mountain in South Korea
  • It is 1950m tall
  • At the centre of the mountain is Baengnokdam Crater lake

HALLA MOUNTAIN

  • There are many trails leading off the island in different directions
  • This allows you to see caves and observe the topography of the island
  • Baengnokdam lake has a depth of 108m and a width of 550m
