The Convention
of Film Posters

The Film Poster:

• The Poster normally contains a image of the main character(actor) name and the title of the film, including the director(if the dirctor has popularty he or shes names is in bold and other members of the film crew names are metioned.
• The release date of the film is visible on the poster as well.

Functional Conventions:

• Release dates
• Name of the film
• Actors and directors names
• And sometime the price of the ticket at the cinema

Design Conventions:

• The colour choice and angle of the image
• Colour and font,font size of the film's name
• weather or not the actor or director's names are in a bold font based of popularity

The effectiveness of the conventions:

• Thoses conventions allow the film poster to illustrate what the film might be about, or gain hype from fan if its a popular film.
• This has to be done successfully to attract the specific audience of the genre.
