Igneous Rocks

Igneous rocks are made when magma cools down and solidifies.

Metamorphic rocks

Metamorphic rocks are formed by the transformation of pre-existing rock. The heat, pressure and chemical reaction all combined would form this particular rock.

Sedimentary Rocks

There are two kinds of sedimentary rocks. Clastic and non-clastic.

Clastic sedimentary rocks are formed when sediments (pieces of rocks worn down in the earth's surface) are disposed in layers at the bottom of lakes or oceans. It is formed by the extreme pressure in many layers of built-up sediment.

Non-clastic rocks are formed by chemical precipitation or by organic activity.
