• It is considered the most important city in the Muslim world
• Baghdad is the capital of Iraq
• Baghdad produces lots of sculptors, painters, poets, and writers

ABU HANIFA SHRINE

• Claimed to be the largest Sunni mosque in Iraq
• Named after Nu’man bin Thabit bin Zuta bin Maah
• On November 23, 2006 the shrine was damaged due to an attack

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF IRAQ

• Located in Baghdad
• Tells epic stories about human civilization
• The museum was closed for many years due to the Gulf War
