DAILY LIFE

  • Men hunted and fished
  • Women planted and harvested crops
  • Children helped their parents either hunt or plant. Young girls were also taught to make items for trade
  • Elders weeded and safeguarded the crops

HOUSING

  • Lived in small round houses called wigwams
  • Made from bent saplings covered in long strips of bark or mats woven from rushes,a river plant
  • Six to twenty people lived in these houses

  • They grew corn,beans, and squash
  • Hunted for deer, turkey, and fish

CLOTHING

  • Women wore knee length fringed skirts made out of deerskin and wore moccasins
  • Men wore a breechcloth made of deerskin and wore moccasins as well

  • Worshipped Ahone who is the great creator
  • Okeus is the god associated with war and offerings were given more often to him
