  • This battle was known as the last major land battle in the American Revolutionary War.

General George Washington led a combined force of Continental army troops to defeat the British army led by Charles Cornwallis, who was forced to surrender.

Cornwallis sent a little nobody to sign the surrender. Washington felt disrespected so he sent a nobody as well. Cornwallis and 8,000 British troops surrender to the U.S.
