HOW ARE MICROWAVES CREATED?

• Microwaves are extremely high frequency radio waves, they're made by various types of transmitter. In a phone there made by a transmitter chip and an antenna, in a microwave they're made by a "magnetron".

HOW IS THE WAVE USED IN SOCIETY?

• Microwaves are used by T.V remotes, cell phones, cooking, and microwaves and ovens.

POSSIBLE DANGERS OF MICROWAVES

• Microwaves cause internal heating of body tissues.
• Infrared radiation is felt as heat and causes skin burns.
• X-Rays damage cells, causing mutations (which may lead to cancer) and cell death.

WAVE LENGTH OF MICROWAVES

• The wavelength of a micro wave is 1 millimeter to 1 meter.
• The comparison is the tip of a pencil (1mm) to a baseball bat (1m)

FREQUENCY OF MICROWAVES

• Microwaves are a form of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths ranging from one meter to one millimeter. Their frequencies are between 300 MHz (100cm) and 300 GHz (0.1cm)
