  • Metabolism is an essential process that converts food into energy
  • Based on a person's metabolism, food can be converted to energy normally, fast, or slow

  • Eating healthy is good for your metabolic rate
  • Not skipping meals is also important for good metabolism, especially breakfast

SLOW METABOLISM

  • Some people eat less to lose weight, but when the body gets less calories than usual, their metabolism rate slows down. When they return to their normal diet, their body thinks it will go back into starvation and begin to store more calories from the "extra" food it gets which causes weight gain
