Most of the time they are called seaweed
They have brown,green,yellow,and orange pigments
Plant like structures
They have gas filled sacs called bladders that allow the algae to float upright in the ocean
Some people eat brown algae
Algins are extracted from brown algae and used as thickener in pudding and other foods
