Hastings High School
Got my start in journalism at the newspaper at Hastings High School (MN).
University of MN
Went on to University of MN. Majored in journalism and philosophy. Got involved with SPJ. Interned at the MN News Council.
Quick stint in technology.
After college, I briefly worked in marketing and communications for a small tech company.

In December 2006, I became Executive Director of the Minnesota News Council.

In June 2010, I helped transition MNC back to MNA and became its program director, where I've been working since.
NEWSPAPERS: NOT DEAD YET
Newspapers are alive and healthy in MN.
MY JOB TODAY
My job looks different depending on season, but involves a lot of variety.
SPJ HAS BEEN A HUGE PART OF MY LIFE!
My personal and professional lives have been very positively affected by my involvement with SPJ over the years.
